Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 16, 2026
This site is run by Code Éclair (NEQ 2271379655), a sole proprietorship based in Rimouski, Québec. This policy explains what we collect, why, and where it goes. The short version: we only collect what you send us through the contact form, we use it only to reply to you, and we don't sell anything or use advertising trackers.
What we collect
- The contact form: your name, email address and message, plus your company, budget and the kind of help you need if you fill them in. We use them only to answer you and, if you ask for one, to prepare a quote.
- Visit statistics: anonymous, aggregate counts (pages viewed, referring site, country, device type) through Plausible, an open-source analytics tool that we host ourselves. It uses no cookies and stores no personal data. To tell unique visitors apart, it uses a one-way hash of the IP address and browser that changes every day, so a visitor can't be identified or followed from one day to the next.
- Technical data: to protect the form from abuse, your IP address is held in memory for up to an hour to limit how many messages can be sent; it is never written to disk. Our servers don't log the contents of the form.
This site sets no cookies, and we don't use Google Analytics, advertising pixels or any other tracker.
Where your information goes
- Hosting: the site and our Plausible instance run on our own servers at OVHcloud, in their Beauharnois data centre in Québec. Messages from the form are not stored in a database on the site.
- Cloudflare: traffic to the site goes through Cloudflare's DNS and network (Cloudflare is a US company), which protects the server from attacks. As a proxy, Cloudflare handles requests in transit at its nearest edge and keeps limited technical logs, such as IP addresses, for security and performance. It may set a strictly necessary security cookie to filter malicious traffic.
- Resend: when you send the form, your message is emailed to us through Resend, a US email provider. Resend processes the message to deliver it and keeps limited delivery logs.
- Our mailbox: your message then lives in our business mailbox, where we answer it like any other email.
Because Cloudflare and Resend are in the United States, your information may be processed outside Québec. These providers only handle it to deliver their service to us, under their own privacy policies linked above. We never sell or share your information for advertising.
How long we keep it
We keep your messages only as long as we need them to answer you and follow up. If the conversation becomes a project, the related correspondence, quotes and invoices are kept with our business records for as long as Québec and Canadian tax rules require. Plausible statistics are anonymous and kept in aggregate.
Your rights
You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, have it corrected, or have it deleted (except what the law requires us to keep), and you can withdraw your consent at any time. Write to the person in charge below; as the law requires, we answer within 30 days. If you're not satisfied with our answer, you can file a complaint with Québec's Commission d'accès à l'information.
